Hey friends, if you weren't one of the 19 women at the meeting last night you missed a great one! We had 3 visitors from the NJAWBO state office...Jackie Berman, VP of Membership; Paula Gould, Executive Director; and Marya Grier, the new President were with us and all spoke to open the meeting.
Next up was the fabulous Kate Lewis, our own VP of Member Services, who gave such a great 5-minute commercial I wanted to quit my business and become an Aflac agent! Kate's personal story is very powerful and as someone who experienced a life altering car accident I can tell you we're all just a second away from a disaster. I hope you're covered.
And speaking of...Andrea L. Clark of the Thomas H. Heist Insurance Agency in Ocean City was back with us for another thought-provoking presentation. She really showed us that "hope is not a plan" and pointed out the potential landmines you may not realize are out there. That's why insurance is "peace of mind."
Several people had told us that focusing the entire 3rd quarter on insurance issues wasn't smart because the topics weren't all sexy. Let's face it. Lots of things with running a business AREN'T sexy. And if you don't want to end up broke you've got to pay attention to the ugly details. We have to take care of ourselves and being aware of the risks, choices, and options out there is part of it.
I had to sneak out early because I had promised a friend I'd co-host a teleseminar for her. I was sorry to miss the end of Andrea's presentation.
Several of our visitors talked with Jane Ann Hart about joining and Kathy Manganello, a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker, decided to come on board! Yay Kathy! Glad to have you with us!
